Welcome to my homestead! Here is a bit about me and our farmhouse.
My name is Heather. I am a wife to an incredible husband, Matthew. We met at church and quickly became best friends. After only four months of dating we were married. Of course because of the pandemic our wedding celebration was cancelled but we didn’t let that stop us! We were married in a private ceremony while our family and friends looked on via zoom. We haven’t been blessed with children yet but are praying to grow our family.
I am a nurse practitioner by trade. I had been feeling the burden of a typical 9-5 clinic job. I hated leaving my home. I missed my family and was praying for another option, ANY other option! Well after an unexpected sequence of events I found myself one of many affected by a large layoff at my hospital. My husband and I had just moved into our dream home, an 1840s fixer upper farmhouse and suddenly found ourselves down to only one income.
Our move in day! So much work ahead of us but we still couldn’t believe this was our house!
This Blog is an Answered Prayer
It certainly wasn’t the way I had expected my prayers to be answered but it was an answer nonetheless! I took it as an opportunity and a gift to be the wife and homemaker I wanted to be. So this blog is all about my journey. I want to share my love for cooking, baking, decorating and our home renovations. I also share how my faith helps me every step of the way.
I hope we can build a great community here where we can relate to struggles and rejoice in successes. I am so glad you have stopped by the homestead!
